Alliances x PALS-Zone – Mental Health & Wellbeing

  • Helping the Community prevent and recognise ill Mental Health.
  • Equipping the community with the skills needed to understand and deal with their wellbeing.
  • Educating the community on the importance of their Mental health and wellbeing.
  • Providing Digital Chapters to discuss mental health and wellbeing on a personal level but, also in the workplace with colleagues and peers.

WHY?

The Alliances community members have roles that are stressful, often lonely and very time consuming. This puts members at a higher risk of having ill mental health and wellbeing.  Our partnership with PALS-Zone aims to combat this as much as we can through providing the necessary skills needed to look after and prevent the onset of ill mental health and wellbeing.

PALS-Zone works on the ethos of “Prevention over Cure“.  They aim to provide the Alliances community and the wider community the skills to recognise when one’s mental health or wellbeing is deteriorating and how best we can prevent our mental health getting worse.

PALS-Zone works to cut through the stigma of mental health and utilises proven techniques to help when we most need it, but also providing the skills needed to help friends, family and work colleagues as well as ones self.

“An organisation’s cyber resilience relies heavily on the capabilities of its enterprise cybersecurity teams, which is in large part determined by the individual resilience of those team members. Given the alarming rates of burnout among cybersecurity professionals, burnout is a key issue for organisational cyber resilience. This session will explore these topics from a personal angle and focus on understanding root causes and what individual cyber leaders can do to mitigate burnout and burnout culture in their teams and workplaces.”

To follow on from our happiness creations chapter in August, PALS are delighted to be joined by Rob Hosking: Ex-police officer turned motivational speaker shares his journey to happiness. From trauma to triumph, Rob will share the lessons he’s learned in how we can create a happier more fulfilled life.

Throughout this chapter we will also delve deeper into exploring the essential elements of creating happiness and resilience in life. As the festive period begins to jingle in, those jolly moods, and ‘festive spirits’ will be expected from us all.

In this chapter – Navigating the maze of expectations – we will delve into the complex world of emotions and feelings, exploring the role that expectations play in shaping our emotional experiences. Emotions are an integral part of the human experience, and our understanding of them is often influenced by cultural, social, and personal expectations. Conforming to societal, gender and historical norms through fear of judgement is a clear yet almost untouchable concept, that requires knowledge, rational and healthy management techniques to navigate.
