Session 1 - Opening Panel Debate

CUSTOMER CENTRICITY AS PART OF YOUR DIGITAL STRATEGY:

We are in the digital revolution and the exponential rate of change is only increasing. Our role as technologist is determining how we move from IT as a service provider into IT as a driver of business performance and determine what the IT leadership and organisation is that is required to make this transition.

Many of us have heard the saying ‘The Customer is always right but what if they’re not?  What if what our customers are asking for is limited by what they know or what they have time focus on?

What can we, as technologist, do to play a bigger role in looking for opportunities to drive business performance?

This panel will discuss the ways in which organisations are reacting to the voice of the customer, and what steps they are taking to ensure that their internal processes reflect the experience that they are trying to create for their customers.

DATA IS A FOUR LETTER WORD

Predictive analytics is quickly becoming the direction in which many businesses are taking in order to predict how customers will respond in the future. Using predictive analytics, CIOs can harness the power of data to provide the business with a more fact-based vision of where to aim and how to get there. By learning from historical data, predictive analytics provides something beyond standard business reports and sales forecasts: actionable predictions for each customer. These predictions encompass all channels, both online and off, foreseeing which customers will buy, click, respond, convert or cancel.

However, along with the opportunity also comes a set of risks. This session will discuss how CIOs need to strike a balance between managing privacy concerns whilst maximising potential opportunities this technology can bring to business and its customers
